Privacy and Cookie Policy

Privacy at RJ Training Ltd, I know it’s a business and so I have to do this, but it is just me in reality. Look we are talking about a one-man band and my limited use of any type of data just to put it in context however here goes.

RJ Training is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. I have no need to do anything bad with your data, I don’t share it with others, I keep it safe and I only use it for the purpose you gave it to me, like to contact you as a client or to receive my fantastic ideas, videos, research etc. But, just to clarify things, here is some legal stuff to explain how I work and run my business.

This Policy explains when and why I collect personal information about people who visit my website contact me or become a client. Yep, it’s taken all these words just to explain how I use personal information, the conditions under which I may disclose it to others and how I keep it secure, don’t complain you only have to read it I had to write it.

I may change this Policy from time to time so please check this page occasionally to ensure that you’re happy with any changes. By using our website, you’re agreeing to be bound by this Policy.

Now obviously if you have any questions regarding this Policy and my privacy practices then you should send them to be by email to office@rebeccajones,biz or by writing to RJ Training Ltd, Peterwell House, Lampeter, West Wales, SA48 7PA.

Who is RJ Training?

RJ Training is a training and consultancy company run by me, Rebecca Jones. It is a business registered in England and Wales (Reg no 04406317). I also trade as Rebecca Jones, The red shoe biz woman, The red shoe biz academy and Stretchy Thinking. These are trading names or brand names and are all part of RJ Training Ltd. Basically whatever I call my work as an international speaker, author, consultant, mentor and trainer its all under the same umbrella of RJ Training Ltd. Yep, the company name is boring and I try to make myself look and sound more exciting, sad but true.

My services are really for businesses and I do what any business owner tries to do and be sensible with data whilst having a need to keep in contact in order to be successful at what I do and surprise surprise earn money.

How do I collect information from you?

In reality, the only way I obtain information about you is if you give it to me. Now you may give it to me via my website, for example, when you contact me about products and services, to make a purchase from the shop, or if you register to receive updates from me. Sometimes you may have asked me at an event to add you to my list and I only do this when you have asked or ticked a box on my form.

If you contact me and ask me to send you: information or purchase a product or service I will put your details on my sales and marketing database and send you what you asked for.

If you asked to be subscribed to my newsletter or updates you will be added to that list. However, to be spot on with this stuff I operate ‘double opt-in’ lists this means you will need to reconfirm your subscription before anything is sent, you just have to click on the e-mail.   Any automated email sent to you will have an unsubscribe option on it so you can leave my list at any time, although that would be sad.

I can monitor who reads my mailing and automations, how many times, and which links you choose to use and read. I can, but I’m unlikely to use this information to increase the content’s level of interest, and help me improve what I send.  You can remove your information from this monitoring by disabling cookies on your website browser before opening emails from us. If you signed up for e-mails from me before GDPR rules came into force on the 25th May 2018 you did so under our previous policy. You can of course unsubscribe now, but I just wanted to remind you that you if you gave me permission to hold your data pre May 2018 then I’m still allowed to do so.

In reality, I don’t send lots of newsletters but I’m telling you all this so you have the facts. My services are designed to be business to business. I don’t do hard sell or cold calling life is too short.

What type of information is collected from you?

The personal information I collect might include your name, address, email address, IP address, postal address and information regarding what pages are accessed and when. Obviously, as I’m not a bank or a big company if you make a purchase from me, your card information is not held by me, it is collected by a third party payment processors, who specialise in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions, as explained below.

How is your information used?

I may use your information to:

  • process orders that you have submitted e.g send you the stuff your bought like a book;
  • to carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into by you and me e.g. you booked me to speak at your event then I need to know who you are, how to turn up to the right place and bill the right person;
  • notify you of changes to my services;
  • send you some of my fab information which you have requested and that may be of interest to you.

I review the retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. Look I promise I won’t hold your personal information on my systems for any longer than is necessary for the relevant activity, unless you ask to be on my regular mailing list.

Who has access to your information?

That will be just me, I have no intention to sell or rent your information to third parties, I’m too busy and too respectful to contemplate doing that.

Nor do I share your information with third parties for marketing purposes. However I do use third parties for my mailing list and for taking payment (currently pay pal and Active Campaign)

Third Party Service Providers working on my behalf: Now realistically I may occasionally, very, very occasionally pass your information to my third party service providers, agents subcontractors and other associated organisations for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on my behalf (for example to process payments or deliver purchases). Now just to clarify I don’t do this currently other than those set out below.

Third Party Product Providers I work in association with: Some things I do need a third part to well do it because I cant be all things to all men. Basically I use a payment gateway to accept digital / on-line payments and a mailing company (such as mailchimp) to hold my list and send information. These third party product providers will share your information with me which we will use in accordance with this Privacy Policy. You should check their privacy policies if your concerned about how they hold / store your data.

Your choices

You have a choice about whether or not you wish to receive information from me. I mean it would be your loss but if you do not want to receive direct marketing communications from me I fully understand, all you have to do is select your choices by ticking the relevant boxes situated on the form on which I collect your information. In additional any mailing that comes from me will have an unsubscribe option. The acceptation being if I am contacting you personally in response to a query, question or approach made by yourself, rather than via a bulk e-mail list.

How you can access and update your information

The accuracy of your information is important to me. If you change email address, or if you feel any of the other information I hold is inaccurate or out of date, please contact me to let me know. I will put it right.

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information I hold about you (there may be a small charge for information requests to cover costs).

As a result, while I do my best to protect your personal information, I cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to me, and you do so at your own risk.
